The question
Claims about artificial intelligence creating value are easy to make and hard to attribute. A gain that follows a deployment is often produced by the process redesign that came with it rather than by the model.
The thesis asked which value contributions are specific to the technology itself across different application options.
Approach
Mapped application options systematically, then worked out which contribution each one makes that an alternative approach would not.
What I took from it
The discipline of attributing an effect to a cause rather than to its context carried straight into process mining work, where the same trap waits.
